Health & Safety

Dog daycare is very similar to children's daycare. Despite all the dogs' vaccinations being current, there is no way for us to stop naturally occuring viruses and bacteria from being passed from dog to dog.

Also, it is important to remember that dogs will be dogs and they play hard. Just as children come home from school with scrapped up knees, dogs will nip each other, get scratched and that is why they are never left unsupervised by our staff. All preventative measures are taken.

Despite all of our best efforts, there will be incidents of minor cuts and bites. Unfortunately, this is inevitable in a social setting, we do our best to keep this to a bare minimum and we appreciate your understanding that we take reasonable measures with all of the dogs, including yours, to provide best atmosphere possible.

Health & Safety Guidelines

  • Dogs MUST have current Rabies, DA2PP, and Bordetella vaccinations. Due to the high rate of canine cough in the city, Bordetella vaccines are required every six months.
  • We will need to see proof of vaccinations before your dog's first visit. We recommend faxing them ahead of time.
  • Please double-check your shot records.
  • For safety of all, no pet will be admitted without current vaccinations records.
  • Dog-Topia is cleaned daily with a hospital-quality disinfectant. If your pet becomes ill, we will consult with your veterinian and notify you immediately.
  • Dog-Topia has an isolation room to house any ill dogs before they are brought to a veterinary facility.
  • Dog-Topia has fire sprinklers throughout and an alarm system.
